jp has a new keyboard. in his words "i like my new setup. i look less like tim rice-oxley and more like a chemical brother." tomorrow we're on radio 4 - some serious flirtation with high-brow living! we're playing and talking briefly on Loose Ends (6.15pm-7) and other guests on the show include rupert everett and... POIROT!!!! you don't get that every day now do you! in case you're not familiar with radio 4, it's 92-95fm/198lw. we're proper excited. we're also very excited about our buffalo bar nights over the summer - beginning on the 12th of july. we're still sorting out the finer details of who we'll be playing with on these evenings, but expect an exciting array of the best people we've played with over the last 18 months and some new faces too. some less usual goodbooks songs may well be on the cards for these gigs - our version of 'you can't fool me dennis' is looking like it might rear its head for the first time, as well as a couple of b-sides and other things you wouldn't normally hear. keep telling everyone and their uncle about passchendaele - it's been on radio 1 a few times now, which is rather exciting. and let's all go see the spice girls together in december!

a prize goes to M&S who supply a very good chocolate fudge cake for a mere £1.99. yes mate.
so today is jp's birthday, which i feel everyone should know about. this is why we were eating cake in practice, and also why there was a large tardis atop his amp today. tomorrow we're going into a studio where we've not worked before to record some b-sides, which will include a slow song, an instrumental and a cover version. i think we're also taking along the video camera that columbia gave (lent?) us so hopefully there'll be some betamax gems to share with you soon enough.
and there's people smoking outside all the pubs. the editors should write a song about that too - it feels like it should be a major event but it's all been a bit of an anticlimax. people should stop driving burning cars into walls too, that's just an error.
so that's monday for you!
